Behavioral Support Academy

Why I Founded the Behavioral Support Academy

After more than a decade working in schools as a BCBA, I saw the same pattern again and again—important decisions were being made about students without a clear, shared understanding of behavior.

Behavior plans were created, but not always clearly explained.
Data was collected, but not always used in a meaningful way.
And the people expected to be part of these decisions often didn’t have the information they needed to fully understand what was happening.

Over time, it became clear that the biggest gap wasn’t effort—it was understanding.

That’s why I created the Behavioral Support Academy.

The goal is simple: make behavior make sense.

At the Academy, I focus on breaking down complex behavioral concepts into clear, practical information that can actually be used in real situations.

Whether you’re a parent trying to understand your child’s support, or a professional looking to strengthen your approach, the goal is the same:

  • Clear understanding
  • Practical application
  • Better outcomes

You don’t need to guess your way through behavior support.

You just need the right information—presented in a way that actually makes sense.

“I was fortunate enough to meet Candace when I was struggling to get my child the support he needed at school. She prioritized building a trusting relationship and partnership with us....... Candace was a strong advocate. She ensured the school district and all staff involved with my child were well trained on his behavior plan, collected accurate data, and were always doing what was in the best interest of my child. Having the opportunity to work with Candace is something our family will always be grateful for......... Any family navigating their child’s behavioral challenges and advocating for their needs within the school environment would be lucky to have Candace on their team.........” - Jillian

"Candace was a trusted member of my son's school team for several years. Whether she was providing direct support services in the classroom, collecting and analyzing data, writing and revising behavior plans, or actively participating in team meetings, she always had my son's and our family's best interests at heart..... She is both a highly skilled practitioner and a kind and empathetic source of strength and support -an all-around superstar! "

I can’t begin to express the deep transformation that occurred in every aspect of my life
